Qorvo Introduces The Industry's First High-power Baw Filter For 5g Migration

Qorvo, Inc., a provider of innovative RF solutions for the interconnected world, today announced the industry's smallest sound wave (BAW) filter, the QPQ1300, which handles an average 5W RF input power with a peak power of 40W. Not only that, the QPQ1300 filter is the industry's first high-power BAW filter for 5G migration, which addresses the challenges of reliability, packaging, testing and space constraints encountered in designing a large-scale MIMO telecommunications infrastructure for 5G migration.


Telecom service providers are deploying large-scale MIMO devices to expand LTE networks and prepare for 5G performance in high traffic areas. This will help increase capacity, improve signal quality, and improve the utilization of existing network spectrum.


The QPQ1300 utilizes Qorvo's powerful solid-state resonator (SMR) BAW technology, which supports the highly reliable thermal performance required for large-scale MIMO infrastructure equipment. With 5x5x1mm size, QPQ1300 can save 90% more space than ceramic filters. The QPQ1300 is optimized for 2575-2635 MHz, which is a subband of the 41 band. Eligible customers can now obtain QPQ1300 prototype samples.

With smaller filters, telecom equipment manufacturers can make large- Class space-constrained applications to design printed circuit boards to increase network capacity with existing LTE network infrastructure. The QPQ1300 expands the lineup of Qorvo's extensive range of advanced BAW base station filters to help solve tough and covert problems around the world. They also enable operators and manufacturers to increase the efficiency of utilization, bandwidth and existing spectrum.
