Rogers Launches Clte-mw (tm) Laminates For 5g And Other Millimeter-wave Applications

Rogers is pleased to introduce the CLTE-MW laminate. This is a ceramic-filled PTFE glass fiber reinforced composite circuit material designed for circuit design engineers to optimize costs and improve performance and development. This unique circuit material system is well suited for applications where the thickness is limited or controlled due to physical or electrical characteristics.

3mil to 10mil of seven optional thickness for today's 5G or other millimeter wave design to provide the ideal signal to the thickness of the interval. In addition, the material also offers a variety of copper foil type options, such as rolling copper foil, reverse copper foil and standard electrolytic copper foil; in special circumstances, can also provide resistance film and metal plate.

The laminate is reinforced with an open glass cloth and, along with the uniform packing, minimizes the effect of high frequency glass fiber effects of electromagnetic wave propagation. The added glass cloth provides excellent dimensional stability for the material. Other low-loss properties (0.0015@10 GHz) can be applied to applications requiring low loss; low water absorption (low temperature loss) (0.03%) keeps the material in good temperature and stability at different temperatures.

The thermal conductivity (0.42W / mK) allows some of the heat management of the circuit to increase the heat; its 630V / mil high dielectric strength to ensure a good insulation between the conductor layer. In addition, the material is UL94 V-0 flame retardant grade material, so the material is also suitable for commercial applications.

CLTE-MW laminates are suitable for the following typical applications such as amplifiers, antennas, baluns, couplers and filters. Its applications range from defense and aerospace to the general commercial and consumer goods markets.
