In March 2017, Nissha, lens international (Hong Kong) co., ltd. and its subsidiary lens international (Hong Kong) co., ltd. established a joint venture in China, rishi lens technology (changsha) co., ltd. engaged in the production and sales of touch panels. The three companies will contribute 20% of Nissha, 70% of lens and 10% of lens international (Hong Kong).

Nissha said it had decided to sell its 20 percent stake to lens international (Hong Kong) after lens technology (changsha) was founded and the plant was unable to fully operate due to weak smartphone demand.

At the same time, Nissha points out that since the start-up costs incurred so far have been partly borne by Nissha, the termination of the joint venture contract is expected to incur a special loss of about 1.5 billion yen in the current year (january-december 2019). This loss has not yet been reflected in the previously published financial forecasts for this year, and the impact of the termination of the joint venture agreement is being examined and will be disclosed as soon as it is determined.
