On February 22, according to an unnamed source quoted by the Financial Times, negotiators from the United States and China are trying to resolve a long-standing dispute between semiconductor rival Meiguang and Fujian Jinhua, and intend to incorporate the issue into their trade agreements.
People familiar with the matter said that resolving the dispute between Meguiar and Jinhua was one of the measures to build mutual trust, and both sides hoped that the issue would be included in the memorandum of understanding.
The person familiar with the matter also pointed out that if long-standing commercial disputes can be reached with concrete agreement, it may help to promote a more comprehensive trade agreement in the United States, which may not require structural reform in China.
On February 21, Bloomberg reported that in order to build mutual trust, Chinese and American negotiators were drafting six memorandums on the most complex issues of China's structural reform, covering the most complex issues in Sino-US trade relations, such as intellectual property rights, services, technology transfer, exchange rate, agriculture and non-tariff barriers.
